Omikron Systems is a young and innovative company. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to the development of LAVAN – the innovation leader in animal facility management software. We focus on the user and on their work with the animal in particular.
Omikron Systems adheres to highest standards for developing LAVAN.
Our commitment is to improve the management of animal facilities and animal welfare alike. Therefore, LAVAN is continuously developed and fulfils the wishes and requirements of our customers whose ideas and suggestions become part of our development roadmap.
Management and employees
Matthias Ottinger (PhD, CEO)
In 2001 Matthias successfully graduated in veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. From 2001-2005 he worked on his PhD research project at Hannover Medical School in virology. After completing his PhD Matthias moved to Boston (USA) to do research as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School (2006-2010). Starting in 2010 he worked as as veterinary specialist for laboratory animals at Hannover Medical School and the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig. His interest was in the efficient and compliant management of operations of both breeding and research animal units. 2015, Matthias was one of the founders of Omikron Systems and since then pushed forward the development of a software for better facility and vivarium management – LAVAN. In 2018 he became the CEO of Omikron Systems. Matthias is now shaping Omikron Systems into an internationally recognized provider of innovative software for lean, efficient and compliant animal facility management.
